For otherwise, how could he haue deliuered vs from death by dying, if he himself had bin swallowed vp of death? or howe should he haue gotten vs the victorie, yt had lost it himself? This thing the Prophete Osee foreseeing by the spirite of God, spake prophetically as Dauid and other Prophets did, of this resurrection of our sauiour, saying, O death, I wil be thy death, O graue, I wil be thy destruction, Osee, Chap. 13. verse. 14. Wherfore we do in this sort distinguish ye benefites of his death from the benefites of his resurrectiō. |
For otherwise, how could he have Delivered us from death by dying, if he himself had been swallowed up of death? or how should he have got us the victory, that had lost it himself? This thing the Prophet Hosea Foreseeing by the Spirit of God, spoke prophetically as David and other prophets did, of this resurrection of our Saviour, saying, Oh death, I will be thy death, Oh graven, I will be thy destruction, Hosea, Chap. 13. verse. 14. Wherefore we do in this sort distinguish you benefits of his death from the benefits of his resurrection. |
