Gideon prevailed not by might nor strength; not by wonted policy, or warlike stratagems, but by Lamps and Pitchers, and the sound of Trumpets: So our Lord Iesus by Lamps and Pitchers, by the light of Truth in Earthen vessels, and by the sounding of the Gospel, doth destroy the powers of darkness, the Kingdom of Sathan, confounds and scatters all the enemies of our salvation. This is the first Parallel. |
