In-Text The Founder of this our Kingdom spent much of his time in solitude, prayer, and abstaining from the common converse of the world. When He was fullest of business, He often went into solitude for Prayer. And when He was on the last Stage of His Life, even at Jerusalem, He retired to the Mount of Olives to betake Himself to Private Prayer, and was apprehended performing the Duty of solitary Prayer. Let us in Imitation of Him, and in Conformity to the Laws of His Kingdom, Betake our selves frequently to solitary Prayers. And in our Devout Recesses, and Holy Retreats from the Noise, and Impertinent business of this world, Let us commend our Souls to God.
