For why should not every man be what he is made to be? And although I do not think that every command in the Gospel is juris naturalis, and so made known to us by the light of Nature (for Nature certainly could not teach us to dye for our brethren, which yet the Gospel doth) yet there is nothing commanded there which carryeth not with it a natural dignity and beseemingness, to which with a little instruction and upon serious consideration we shall willingly subscribe. |
