As to Demonstration, there's no way of demonstrating a thing not to be, but by proving 'tis impossible and a Contradiction to be; and who will undertake to convince the World that 'tis impossible there should be a God? or supposing there be, that Religion and a Future State are downright Contradictions? What is there in any of these Notions that shocks our Reason, and restrains our Assent? What other more certain Knowledge have we that makes our Belief of these things inconsistent with it?
