The Second is, as it hath the force of a Remembrance or seasonable Intimation. Have I been a Wilderness, & c? Nay rather indeed, I have been the quite contrary. I have in reality been a Paradise. It is a kind of an Ironical Speech, wherein the contrary is intended to what•s exprest; and that for the greater conviction of the persons to whom it is spoken. |
