Forasmuch as the end of any thing is not usually attain'd but by the means; therefore those which want the means, are so far forth from the end. Now, this remoteness, in regard of the means, it is again twofold, either Absolute, or Comparative. For the absolute remoteness, this is in such as are wholly and universally depriv'd of all the Ordinances and spiritual Dispensations. This is the case of the Heathens, and of such as live out of the pales of the Church: |
