There may be discoveries of new Truths in Philosophy, but not in Religion; and in Divinity, as to some Points which are purely Speculative & Theological, but not which are Fundamental and Practical; no, the Gospel it is Aeternum Evangelium, it is the Everlasting Gospel, as it is called, Rev. 14.6. From whence there is to be no substraction, and unto which there is to be no Accumulation. The once thinking of this since the consignation and sealing up of the Canon, has been exploded in all times of the Church. |
