It is called indeed by St Paul, a Crown of righteousness, to wit in respect of Christs promise (for so it followeth,) which the righteous Iudg (to wit upon the account of his own word, which if he should not perform he were unrighteous) but not in respect of our merit; and therefore it is added, shall give (not pay) me in that day.
