Now God burns this Chariot by enlightning men into the expediency of Peace, and convincing them that Peace (if it may be honourably had) is far more eligible then War. Thus God commanded the pure Oil-Olive beaten, to be brought for the light, to cause the Lamps to burn always, Exod, 27. v. 20. These Lamps were to give light in the Tabernacle of the Congregation. |
