In-Text Next the Word of God preach'd is the object of our Faith, which is here imply'd. And (as the men of the Schools do love to word it) This is Fidei objectum formale Quo. For as Faith cometh by Hearing, and Hearing by the Word of God, which Word cannot be heard without a Preacher; so no sooner was it said by Paul and Silas, that the Jailour must believe in the Lord Iesus Christ, but in the next breath it follows, They spake unto him the WORD of God, (v. 32.) They had in vain told him he must, had they not taught him how he might.
