In-Text For this Faith being (an Act, or rather) an Habit of the Intellect, And yet determin'd to its object by the Empire of the Will which is at last its Subject too, ( That as expressed by the word Fides, and This as well by the word Fiducia, ) 'tis plain its object must be consider'd both as True, and as Good. As the object of the Intellect, the Injoyments of Heaven are still consider'd by us as True, and so are properly contemplated as Things not seen whereof there is yet no other Evidence, than that of Faith. But as the object of the Will, they are consider'd by us as Good, and so are properly here expressed by Things hoped for, and Faith of such may be call'd the Substance.
