§ 16. To which I answer by these following Degrees, (beginning with the least and lowest.) First when laid upon us by others, there is matter of Comfort in it, from the Consideration of its bare Nature For we know 'twas the Prerogative of Goodly men heretofore above other Mortals, that they were able out of choice to be bravely Miserable, (if such a Latinism as That may be us'd in English.)
