In-Text The third way is, when taking advantage of the Law, we prosecute the extremity thereof against our brother, who perhaps hath done something contrary to the letter of the Law, but not violated the intent of the Lawgiver, or offended either against common Equity, which ought to be the measure of just Lawes, or against the common good, which is in some sort the measure of Equity.
