And secondly, that it be directed to the right end: Which is, not to gain glory or applause to the speaker (that is a base and unworthy end:) much less to poison the judgements, or pervert the consciences of their hearers, by drawing them the more easily thereby into error or Sin (that is a cursed and pernicious end.)
