The spring of corrupt nature opened in this vent, proud selfe perking up above God. They speake the very dialect of all the Sonnes of Adam, when left to themselves, Wee will not: The grand question on foot in the world, is this, whose will shall prevaile; whether God shall have his will, or we sinfull creatures our owne wills ful•illed. Nothing so frequently disputed, nothing more hotly debated; and when it comes to tryall, men will deny themselves in any thing, rather then their will; yea, they will deny God himselfe, rather then suffer themselves to bee crossed therein.
