We may well give the reason out of St. Chrysostome: Tribulation is well called temptation, because it is for the triall of our Philosophy, for the triall of the graces that God hath given us, the very word temptation betokens triall; therefore it is that the Schoolmen give that definition of it.	when he is tried.
