We have affirmed and upon sure ground, and reason proved, in our public Sermons, that the popish Mass, is not an offering for you quick and dead but a most detestable abomination before god And Therefore a man will not believe how glad we Are, which love the truth, that you our most prudent senators require of us an answer to this question for we conceive great hope that God which moves you to desire to attain the knowledge of the Light and truth, will of his infinite mercy increase his grace in you that After the Exampl of the godly Kings, Hezekiah and Julius when the truth diligently searched out and truly known, you will take away, Abolah and utterly destroy all such traditions of man as Are repugnant to the word of God. |
