first God advances the Inhabitant, and then, after a time, he repairs the habitation; first he unites the Soul more closely to himself, and afterwards the Body to the Soul: This is that admirable Change, which Job says, that he would wait all the days of his appointed time for; that is, of his continuance in the state of the dead (as an Excellent Author hath largely cleared.) Thus when we lay down our Mortal flesh in the bosom of the Earth, we leave it to rest in hope of a certain Immortality. |
