A provoked Prince ought to be pacified by Submission, not irritated by Revenge, which is not lawful against a Private Person, much less against the Head of a Nation: For a Subject lying under groundless suspitions, to infer from thence, that it is better to be suspected for somthing, than nothing, is the Devils Logick; and to exercise Rebellion correspondent to such a Principle, is a diabolical Fact. |
