In-Text VVere this duty of walking (in this sense) before God well practised, how would it teach us to walk before our selves! and the thought of divine inspection put us upon diligent circumspection. The truth is, look we never so narrowly into, watch we never so carefully over our selves, God will see those faults in us which we see not in our selves. No marvel if the consideration of a divine aspect make us to say, We will take heed to our waies, Psal. 39. 1. Indeed this it is which will be both a bridle to our sins, and a spur to our graces, keep us from wandring, and inoite us to walking.
