Object. ' But we find Apollos teaching the way of the Lord diligently, even in the Synagogue? Act. 18.25. True, but who was Apollos? not onely an elequent man, & mighty in the Scriptures, verse 24. but is expresly mentioned to be one of the Ministers by whom the Corinthians believed, 1 Cor. 3.5, 6. and in that regard he is owned by Paul, as his brother Apollos 1 Cor. 16.12. and ranked with him & Pet, 1 Cor. 1.12. Say you he was not put into office when he preached at Ephesus, Act. 18. but how prove you it? Surely the mention of his knowledg only of John 's baptism, i. e. his doctrine and Ministry, ver. 25, will be too slender a proof thereof; |
