3. Covetousness is the third secular evil, which S. John calls the lust of the eyes, and S. Paul, idolatry. This abominable pestilence hath so entred into the minds of almost all Priests, hath so blinded the eyes of their understanding, that we see nothing but that which seems to bring unto us some gain.
